British economy deteriorates affect pound.
Weekly economic data showed that Britain’s overcoming of recession still seems to be unstable. In January U.K. manufacturing output lost 0.9% and industrial production surprisingly decreased by 0.4%, while economists were looking forward to 0.2% rise. In morning trading sterling hit its week minimum.
Brown Brothers Harriman in London sees that negative pressure on pound is caused by uncertain politics, poor economics, an unsure monetary policy environment and worrisome fiscal position.
On Tuesday Fitch Ratings claimed that although the worsening of U.K.'s credit profile during the global financial is still acceptable for triple-A rated countries, the government's current plan diminish the deficit by half in four years is not fast enough.
